My two main categories for the 2018 challenge are Balance and Flexibility.


I chose Balance because I want to be able to stay in a pose at yoga without continually falling out of it. I thought my balance was ok but turns out it is not that great, in particular when transitions are involved or I have to turn my gaze. I also think that when my balance improves it will also mean my core strength will have improved.




Flexibility was one of my main categories last year. I want to build on that. Being flexible and lengthening my muscles means less injuries, better blood flow and circulation.  Last year I felt so much better playing hockey and when games were finished, I wasn't stiff and sore. I know a lot of the Masters Ladies have said they have been able to continue playing due to doing yoga. I have a long way to go. One of our instructors told us about one of her instructors who said it took her 18 years to achieve being able to lie her chest on the ground during a wide straddle forward fold! Help!!
